Jazz pianist Kjetil Jerve and beatmaker Doydank have crafted a love letter to the golden age of West Coast music, channeling the spirit of "Adult Oriented Rock" through a distinctly modern lens.

Created in July 2024, "Comfort & Joy" is an audacious blend of new romance, culinary adventures, and technological innovation. At the heart of this sonic experiment lies the Expressive E "Osmose" synthesizer, a spiritual successor to Vangelis' legendary Yamaha CS-80. This cutting-edge instrument allows Jerve to conjure an entire band's worth of sounds, from funky bass lines to the warm embrace of a Rhodes piano.

Doydank's production approach is both unforgiving and revelatory. Eschewing modern DAWs for a more immediate, tape-like workflow, the duo has embraced creative limitations that paradoxically expand their sound. The result is an album that feels both intimately handcrafted and expansively cinematic.
